Our Story

Today Macarons & More has two homes, our shop in the Royal Arcade, Norwich and our bakery in Hellesdon. We have a team of 9 people, each person bringing different personality, ideas and skills to the table. Together we have developed an extensive range of delicious delicacies from French macarons to moreish brownies and celebration cakes to fruit pastilles and lots more! But this hasn’t always been the case.

Our story begins with Tim. Tim Kinnaird originally trained as a doctor and worked as a consultant paediatrician in Norwich. Although he loved his job his passion for food was brought to light in 2010. Tim was given the opportunity to explore this avenue further, and for him everything changed. Tim’s showstopping desserts caught the nation’s attention on MasterChef 2010 and earning him a place in the final. 

This experience inspired Tim to start Macarons & More from his kitchen. Within six months, the business outgrew Tim’s house and moved to Watton, Norfolk. and with this move the team that you’ll meet in our shop and bakery today began.

Macarons & More has been growing ever since. In 2011 we launched online, meaning we could deliver our delights throughout the UK. Then in March 2013, our beautiful shop opened in Norwich’s Royal Arcade. By 2014, it was getting tricky to meet demand for the shop and for our wholesale and online customers. We opened our new, larger and more central Norwich bakery in January 2015. Now, we can cook up even more treats than ever.

As well as the support of our amazing customers, Macarons & More has received local and national acclaim. We won the Beautiful Baking category in the EDP Food and Drink Awards in 2013, and we were runners up in the Observer Food Monthly Awards in the Independent Retailer category in 2013, 2015 and 2017.
